Zurich (Reuters)-FIFA presidential election remains held in Zurich on Friday this week despite the football world body was rocked by the corruption case.
Seven members of the FIFA Executive arrested Police Switzerland because cases allegedly involved "mismanajemen and money laundering in connection with the World Cup 2018 and 2022".
The seventh FIFA officials were accused of having received bribes of thousands of dollars. FIFA Communications Director, Walter De Gregorio insists that reform efforts continue to do world football organization.
"It's for FIFA," he said in a press conference held in Zurich on Wednesday (local time). "It's really painful, it was not easy (receive news), though they all confirm that we are on the right track," he said, as quoted from the BBC page.
Seven police officers were arrested in a hotel in Zurich on Wednesday early morning local time. The Federal Office of Justice (FOJ) Switzerland reveal that the arrests were carried out based on the request of State Attorney's Office in New York, USA. For that, the case will be assigned to the Attorney General of New York.

"The indications corruption charges, conducted a systematic and well-planned," said New York Attorney, Loretta Lynch. "The case was in progress at least stretch in two generations of football officials. They are suspected of abusing his position to utilize and dredge millions of dollars by accepting bribes and kickbacks in money. "
